Combined Heat & Power (CHP) Systems

CHP is an innovative technology that delivers electricity and thermal energy at a high efficiency using various techniques and fuels. With on-site power production, we minimalise losses and wasted energy. 

CHP is installed in individual facilities or buildings, or they can provide energy for a district or form a microgrid that provides power and heat to multiple end-users. CHP equipment generates power in the event of grid outages, and we can use it along with other energy technologies like solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and energy battery storage.

Nearly two-thirds of energy is wasted during conventional separate power and heat generation; discharged into the atmosphere. By capturing and using heat that would usually be lost, CHP can reach over 80 per cent efficiencies, compared to 50 per cent for conventional electricity generation and an on-site boiler. Due to their increased efficiency, CHP systems emit fewer carbon emissions than separate heating used together with grid power.
